Fewer Troops Needed, Says General

The former leader of American troops said Baghdad could be stabilized with far fewer additional troops than President Bush planned to send, according to an account of his appearance at a Senate hearing from The New York Times.

Perhaps this is why he is being promoted. The Bush Administration does have a penchant for rewarding failure as long as they keep toeing the line.
